Newborn Photography Process

A Guide on the timeline of a newborn session

Welcoming a new baby is an exciting and emotional time, and I want your newborn photography experience to feel simple and stress-free. Below is a quick overview of how the process works from booking to gallery delivery.

1

Booking Your Session

Most families reserve their newborn session during pregnancy to ensure a spot on my calendar. Complete the reservation form, sign the session agreement, and submit your retainer to reserve your spot around your baby’s due date. Your client portal will contain everything you need for your session.

2

When Baby Arrives

Once your baby is born, simply log in to the portal and use the scheduling link in your client portal to select your session time. Newborn sessions are typically photographed when babies are 5–15 days old, when they are still sleepy and baby acne hasn’t set in.

3

Your Newborn Session

Sessions take place in my studio and are relaxed and baby-led. I provide wraps, blankets, and simple props. Newborn sessions usually last 1–2 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and cuddles. Your baby’s comfort and safety always come first.

4

Viewing & Ordering Your Images

After your session your images will be added to an online gallery and emailed to you. If you prefer, I’m more than happy to schedule an in-person ordering session. During this step of the process you will decide which images you would like to order. Once the order is submitted I will professionally edit and touch up your images.

5

Order Delivery

Most orders are delivered within 1–2 weeks after your session. This depends on the order—some products ship from overseas and take 2–4 weeks. If you order digital files, you will receive an email with your gallery link for downloading.
